Didn't you use to do crappy video game parodies too where you voice acted all the characters very poorly? That's what caught people's "attention" to you. Who're you to talk? What? He didn't MEAN for it to get popular, it just did. He got that MTV job so he continued to make more. MGA2 was the last one. He plans to move on. He's said it several times, on NG, on his page...

Yeh, i did, when i was 16. That was quite a long time ago. Ego has been flashing alot longer then me. Id love to be more productive, which is why im hoping to quit my job this year, im sick of being on a computer working in flash from 9 - 5 everyday, i find it very draining creatively. The last thing i want to do when i get home is hop right back on and get to work on my own stuff.
As for money, i dont care much for it. If i get it i get it, but i have no intentions of trying to make a profit for what i do, especially if it is based on someone elses characters and universe.
And once again, as written above "I dont want to sound like im jumping on a Bandwagon, but the fact is my opinions arent that different to his in this particular area, and ive been complaining about it for a long time now, its the reason i originally started the Nimbin series. I have nothing personal against ego, i just dont think his awesome series is a good example of voice talent or writing, and i hate the fact every knobjob out there is copying it. I do however look forward to seeing his new series when it comes out." Ego didn't really get into flash until 2006. I know because he was asking friends for help with constructing things in the program. (he asked me too)
And like I said, MTV wanted it so he did it. He made MGA on a whim one night, it was just him being goofy and silly, then me and then he was talked into putting it on Newgrounds. It caught MTV's attention. They offered him a job to make these movies. Hell, if it was me, I'd do it. We all need money to survive.
As for imitating the series, it's the biggest form of flattery.
Let the kids have their fun. I've learn recently to worry more about what you do and not everyone else.
Theres no doubt that immitation is the biggest for of flattery, but it also tends to destroy everything it happens too.
I liked MGA2 for the animation.
All the other elements were rather basic.
I highly doubt that Ego will actually make something that is really worth the title of awesome. I agree his animations are something which would make any real animator want to hang himself, but sadly his rise to glory is what i would call the "Numa Numa style" of glory. I, as a beginner animator, feel discouraged whenever i try to do a flash movie because i know that no matter how good they will be they will never be good enough to attract the same amount of fans as Ego does.
Can't wait to see the next flash movie your makin man, your artwork has improved from the last works you made.
Hopefully you wont have too, its called "Break on Through" and is 40 seconds long, which aint bad for a music video for a song thats onyl 2 and a half minutes, especially since ive only been working on it for a week.

It didnt get popular until the 3rd one, the 4th one flopped and then i kinda decided i didnt want to do parody anymore.

Hey dude! Didn't know you posted News here. I Agree with your views on the "Awesome" series... cos my mates irritated the shit out of me with the first Metal Gear awesome, told me I couldn't draw, that my ideas were shite and that the Awesome Series was good... I was like really pissed off so I dislike them. Good to see someone agrees!!! But it just shows you that most of the audience are brainless!
