As for your situation, I'm in the exact same spot, only I didn't break up with my girlfriend. But I may have become an asshole regardless. I can't find shit for work, but it beats living in mom's basement. If I can hang in there, so can you negrolangelo.

I know what you mean about the whole thinky thinky thing... I always hang out for free time, but if I get it and don't have something to focus on, the thinky thinky times come and swallow me up for hours at a time... "Am I a good person? does my bum look big in these jeans? should I get a penis extension? it looks like it would shorten the stem? what if it breaks off? etc etc"
and redesign the girl. I know, it's one of the difficult things to make simplified female characters, or attractive characters of any gender, because there is a norrower scope for distortion, but use reference from any animation you can think of, red hot riding hood comes to mind... or kimpossible... or better yet, look at how female cartoonists draw women... Persepolis?
Yeh, ive been trying to draw a girl like the one from Red Hot Riding hood for weeks now, i just cant get the construction down.
I think that girl works. It makes a larger contrast between her and the other characters making them seem more obscure and weird, which what i assume you were trying to do or something, i dunno :)

Yeah, the economy really sucks right now. It's hard for a lot of people to find jobs when companies have to keep cutting them. I applied at a dump and there was a huge line for employment. It really is a sad state when people are fighting to sort garbage.

I think a game centered around a white guy going around shooting black people is kind of racist. Even though I think the devs totally didnt even think of it that way and by the time they showed the first trailer they may have been like "ooo shit maybe we should add some Chinese people and some Mexicans to make it less racist against black people" after all if you are racist against EVERYONE its not really racist any more.
Anyhow, about your whole situation.. I feel I am in a very familiar situation as you. I am also unemployed and I also have tried to break up with my girlfriend of 4 years, I think its a guy thing, or afraid of commitment thing and getting older thing. I got back together with her fortunately. I'm also 22, and I also use Flash as an answer to boredom and a way to make money.
I make Flash games, even though Its been hard lately for me to get a project going and at the same time feel it will be worth it to finish it. It is hard to make games. Period. But if you are looking for work though and are doing your artwork anyways, I can hire you to do some artwork for a game.
Although I am not deep in development of a game right now, I always can use artists, so drop me a PM if you are interested and we can chat about prices/timelines etc.
