Although I have to agree with you on the fact that nearly every Zelda parody is based on OoT and it's getting boring, very boring. I also agree with you that Legend of David is quite over-rated =]
But in the end, everyone has the right to make anything they want (within reason, obviously) And you can't stop people voting however much on whatever flash they want. Even if their judgement is blind and ignorant...

1. Yeah Ocarina jokes are stale, but most people know it I guess. Same reason why everyone picks Final Fantasy 7, people just know it more.
2. There are still some good video game parodies I guess. The FF12 one and Joe's singalong in the car were pretty good.

I wouldnt mind working on some sort of zelda parody aslong as people could proove to me that they had ideas that were, you know, actually funny. And derived from the source material.
I have to disagree with you there...there is no one true level of art and creativity.
Art is objectionable and every point of view is different.
The legend of David didn't become popular because it's Zelda...it's because of David.
He did a parody because it was his favorite game I suppose. Which is his choice alone.
David was originally a funny series on Newgrounds. His unique character is similar to the likeness of every "idiot" character you may have seen before. But he has a unique personality, voice, and signature scream that makes the series funny.
Your earlier flashes weren't exactly "Masterpieces" before...so I it's best that every artist just not judge...but rather just create...
Let your own art...speak for itself.
